Bachelor of Arts in English
The Bachelor of Arts in English is a four-year undergraduate degree for students who love reading and writing, who wish a solid grounding in Anglo-American literature for secondary or postsecondary teaching, who wish to prepare for graduate or professional study, or wish to develop analytical and expressive skills valuable in many careers.
Career Opportunities
Many graduates with an English degree pursue a career in high school or college level teaching. Some English graduates continue their education in graduate or professional programs. Other graduates pursue careers in fields where their communication and analytical skills are major assets.

L202 must be taken before L371. Students are encouraged to take a 100 or 200 level course before attempting courses at the 300 level or above. A course may not count in more than one category. Students may include one 300 level or above course in the major from a related field approved by a departmental advisor (literature in another language, new media communication, history, film studies, African American studies, women's studies, folklore, philosophy, etc.).
