e-Portfolio Submission & Evaluation Calendar (Fall Semester 2007 or Spring Semester 2008)
All students entering the Teacher Education Program are required to develop and maintain an electronic portfolio, or e-Portfolio. The e-Portfolio will contain evidence, or artifacts, which demonstrate that a teacher candidate has met the requirements established in the Division of Education's Metastandards at the level of proficiency specified for each of the Benchmarks in his or her program.
Assistance in the selection, development, and preparation for publication of artifacts and reflective statements will be provided in each of the pre-professional and professional education courses. In addition, assistance in the design, publication, and maintenance of the e-Portfolio will take place in the Introductory e-Portfolio Workshop at Benchmark 1 and the Advanced e-Portfolio Workshop at Benchmark 4.
Student progress in the development of the e-Portfolio, to include generating, digitizing, and posting of artifacts, and the writing of reflective statements, will be the subject of review in each of the pre-professional and professional education courses. In addition to meeting the e-Portfolio requirements for each of the Benchmarks in his or her program, every student must pass the Formative e-Portfolio Evaluation, in which he or she must achieve a minimum level of Proficient for each of the 7 Metastandards, at Benchmark 4. Every student must also pass the Summative e-Portfolio Evaluation, in which he or she must achieve a minimum level of Mastery for each of the 7 Metastandards, at Benchmark 6.
