CURRICULUM LABORATORY / TEACHER RESOURCE CENTER (CuLAB)
The CuLab is
located in Room 176 of the Main Building on the IU Kokomo campus.
This Information Commons is designed to provide resources for educators. It
houses books and materials for research and lesson planning. The
collections include magazines, puppets, instructional aids,
textbooks, computers, and audio visual items. In addition, the
collection of children’s literature, fiction and non-fiction, is
quite substantial and diverse.
Students are encouraged to utilize the
CuLab for individual and small group work. Tables provide space for
preparation and construction of materials to be used in practicum
experiences. Computers are available and the room has wireless
access. Scanners are available to students as they create and edit their e-Portfolios.
The CuLab is used for New Student
Orientation, visits by prospective students, workshops on special
topics, meetings of the Exploring Teaching Post, and book talks. In
addition, information is posted regarding the activities and events of student organizations (EdSAC, meshEd, Pi Lambda Theta) and Division of Education.
