Kokomo is located in north central Indiana, about 50 miles north of Indianapolis. Kokomo is named after a Miami Indian, Ko Ko Mo. It is also known as The City of Firsts because it is home to the first commercially produced automobile. Annual community events include Ribfest, the Main Street Music Festival, Taste of Kokomo, the Greatest Spectacle in Tasting, and Oktoberfest.
