Master of Public Management

The M.P.M. Curriculum

Our M.P.M. program requires between 39 to 48 credit hours depending on which track you elect to pursue. Our program offers great flexibility, allowing you to pursue your degree on either a part-time or full-time basis. All of our courses are offered in the evening hours so students may continue to work while completing their degree. Classes are small and taught by dedicated faculty who are both skilled educators and experienced professionals.

The program requires the completion of core courses, a chosen track area, experiential or professional requirements, and electives. The electives add breadth to a chosen program, further exploration of the field of concentration, or enhance quantitative and analytical skills or administrative techniques. The experiential requirement ensures that each graduate of the M.P.M. program gains insight into the world of public service through an experience outside the classroom.

Two Tracks

Our M.P.M. program consists of two tracks for you to pursue. We offer a Public Management and Policy track or a Health Management track. You may also elect to pursue a double track in both Public Management and Policy and Health Management.

Public Management and Policy

The M.P.M. track in Public Management and Policy is designed to develop leaders for public, private, and non-profit organizations. It allows for expertise in public management and policy analysis. It provides public service managers the skills to cope with challenging human and technical issues. It also provides a broad interdisciplinary background in the values and ethics of public management.

Health Management

The M.P.M. track in Health Management is designed to develop leaders for public, private, and non-profit organizations within the health care sector. It provides health care managers the skills to cope with challenging human and technical issues. It also provides a broad interdisciplinary background in the values and ethics of health care management.
