Eva R. White,  Ph.D.
Professor of English

Biography

Eva Roa White was born in Spain and raised in the French part of Switzerland. She has lived in Ireland and Saudi Arabia and now resides in the United States, where she is Associate Professor of English at Indiana University Kokomo. Her research focuses primarily on Irish Studies and Immigration Studies. She has authored a book, A Case Study of Ireland and Galicia’s Parallel Paths to Nationhood. Her articles about identity migration and hybrid cultural and national identities in Irish, Galician, and South Asian Studies have appeared in New Hibernia ReviewSouth Asian Review and in the essay collections Literary Visions of Multicultural Ireland: The Immigrant in Contemporary Irish LiteratureThe Wake of the Tiger, and (M)Othering the Nation: Constructing and Resisting Regional and National Allegories Through the Maternal Body. She has also co-authored articles about the scholarship of teaching and learning in Currents and Jolt /Merlot. Her creative writing has been published in Transnational LiteratureNatural BridgedisClosureMarco PoloBuhito Press and The Common. She is presently at work on a new book on Roddy Doyle.
