Statistics for the 2014-2015 Academic Year

Nearly 500 of our School of Education graduates are teaching in the state of Indiana. Following are more useful statistics from the IU Kokomo School of Education.

Indiana CORE Assessment for Educator Licensure

With a passing score of 220 on the Indiana Educator Pedagogy Exam, our elementary program completers’ score average was 238 and our secondary program completers’ score average was 250.

With a passing score of 220 on the Indiana Educator CORE Exam for an elementary license, our program completers’ score average across all four sections (Reading/Language Arts; Mathematics; Science/Health/Physical Education; Social Studies/Fine Arts) ranged from 234-237.

With a passing score of 220 on the Indiana Educator CORE exam for secondary licenses, our program completers’ score average across English, Mathematics, History and Government* ranged from 222-247. *candidate numbers were too low to report individual license score averages

With a passing score of 220 on the Indiana Educator CORE exam for Mild Intervention (Special Education), all of our program completers passed the exam on their first attempt with a score average of 240.

Program Completer Student Teaching Clinical Evaluation

With a score of 3 being Effective and a score of 4 being highly effective, the average score for elementary program completers in Fall 2014 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.53 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.45 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.61. The average score for Spring 2015 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.30 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.30 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.29.

With a score of 3 being Effective and a score of 4 being highly effective, the average score for secondary program completers in Fall 2014 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.62 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.40 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.84. The average score for Spring 2015 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.33 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.57 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.08.

With a score of 3 being Effective and a score of 4 being highly effective, the average score for Special Education program completers in Fall 2014 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.50 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.42 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.58. The average score for Spring 2015 across all criteria of the clinical evaluation was 3.65 with University Supervisors’ score average 3.58 and Cooperating Teachers’ score average 3.71.
